'Lord Loss' by Darren Shan is
the first book in the Demonata Series targeted at older children and young
adults. It is based on a boy called Grubbs Grady and the wierd and downright
creepy events that unfold in his life.
This book, in fact the whole
Demonata Series, is unlike anything you have ever read before. It is so
different it can't really be compared! Darren Shan has to be one of my favourite
authors of all time.
This book is really only a taster, an appetizer, of
what is yet to come in the series. It is stuffed full of gore, blood, guts,
entrails, the odd chunk of liver, a bit of someone's brain, a few severed hands,
monsters chewing on someone's bowels... You get the picture. This book is the
stuff nightmares are made of and certainly not for the faint hearted or easily
scared and yet it is gruesomely satisfying and addictive! Darren Shan really
does take horror to a whole new level. He puts slasher movies to
shame.
The creatures in this book and the whole series are horrifying and
awful and the other worlds and universes featured in the series are almost
beyond comprehension.
Darren Shan really is a Master Of Horror and all things creepy.
