If I could...

If I could, I would live here...

These would be my bestest friends...

And I would always dress like this...

If I could! If I could!

The Native American Legend Of The Bearglesquoonit

One night during a fierce winter storm, five friends, a bear, an eagle, a squirrel, a racoon and a rabbit, all sought shelter in the same cave. In order to stay warm, the five friends helped each other, because that is what friends do in times of need. They all cuddled and snuggled close to each other. As the storm raged on during the night it got colder and colder and the five friends cuddled closer and closer for warmth. One by one they fell asleep.

The next morning two things had happened. First, the storm was over and it was a lovely, bright, warm sunny day. Second, only one animal came out of the cave. It had the head of a racoon, the ears of a rabbit, the body and hind legs of a bear, wings like an eagle and a tail like a squirrel. This creature was the very first bearglesquoonit. The five friends had held each other so tightly during the night and cuddled so closely, they became one.

Native American legend states that if you ever see a bearglesquoonit, it will bring you good fortune.

The legend explains that, though we may all be different, no matter who we are, what we are or what we look like, we can all be friends and help each other, especially in times of need. Though we are different, no matter who we are, what we are or what we look like, friendship bonds us all so tightly that we become the same, we become one and those bonds last forever.
