If I could...

If I could, I would live here...

These would be my bestest friends...

And I would always dress like this...

If I could! If I could!

The Native American Legend Of The Bearglesquoonit

One night during a fierce winter storm, five friends, a bear, an eagle, a squirrel, a racoon and a rabbit, all sought shelter in the same cave. In order to stay warm, the five friends helped each other, because that is what friends do in times of need. They all cuddled and snuggled close to each other. As the storm raged on during the night it got colder and colder and the five friends cuddled closer and closer for warmth. One by one they fell asleep.

The next morning two things had happened. First, the storm was over and it was a lovely, bright, warm sunny day. Second, only one animal came out of the cave. It had the head of a racoon, the ears of a rabbit, the body and hind legs of a bear, wings like an eagle and a tail like a squirrel. This creature was the very first bearglesquoonit. The five friends had held each other so tightly during the night and cuddled so closely, they became one.

Native American legend states that if you ever see a bearglesquoonit, it will bring you good fortune.

The legend explains that, though we may all be different, no matter who we are, what we are or what we look like, we can all be friends and help each other, especially in times of need. Though we are different, no matter who we are, what we are or what we look like, friendship bonds us all so tightly that we become the same, we become one and those bonds last forever.

Edward Cullen Is Actually An Alien Not A Sparkly Vampire! :o

I had an awesome dream last night.

Aliens arrived in Liverpool in their spaceship concealed inside an emerald green cloud with lightning running through it. Then the lightning collected into a ball & everyone started screaming & running away from it & then the ball of lightning shot down to the ground & exploded in a massive bomb. I found the road I was running down blocked by falling rubble. I turned and saw tanks & soldiers running towards the spaceship, jets were zooming overhead & I could hear explosions & gunfire. Suddenly I was pulled to one side by Edward Cullen & we ran toward a river just as the fire from an explosion engulfed the whole area.

We swam for what seemed like a long time & came out in an area full of rows and rows of very tall terraced houses. We noticed that the streets were empty. Someone opened a door & beckoned us inside quickly. We found out that the army had driven the aliens off but there was a rumour that there were aliens disguised as humans & they were turning people into aliens. Everyone was staying inside trying to wait it out, trying to stay safe. The woman who took us in looked very much like Mrs Weasley. She cooked us a roast dinner. Edward ate his vegetables first before eating anything else on his plate.

Not knowing what had happened to my family I was eager to make contact with them. We managed to get hold of a mobile & I found my family were safe. Determined to get back to them I decided to get some provisions (food, weapons, ammunition) & begin the journey to London to be with my family. Edward & I stuck to the shadows & stopped for brief periods. The streets were patrolled by soldiers & tanks. Smoke & fire was everywhere, rubble and ruin strewn across street after street.

We found a place to stay when we got to London. It was dark & full of people. Then suddenly Edward went missing & one by one others began to go missing too & then I saw Alice Cullen. Though she looked human, there was something different about her. Her face was perfectly symmetrical. Her skin was flawless, her hair was shiny & perfect. She had no blemish, no flaws, no imperfections like a normal human being would. I realised she was an alien, she must have taken Edward. Then she came towards me & took my arm gently & asked me to follow her. I begged her not to turn me into alien because I needed to find my family. She seemed to consider this & then she just walked away. I looked over towards the door that she came through & I decided to find out what was in there.

The door was left ajar. The room inside had dull glow. There were people in there. Every one of them was perfect. Human looking but not human. Then I saw Edward. He was one of them now. He called me over to him & I sat down at a table & listened to him explain that he was still the same Edward. He wasn't different. The aliens had made him better, perfect, flawless. They wanted to improve the human race, not destroy it. Then Alice turned up with two plates in her hands. She put them in front of Edward & me. She gave me a long look before she left. Then I noticed she had cooked a roast dinner. Edward was eating his vegetables first. I realised that he really was the same Edward.

Then I woke up.

Scared the freaking crap outta me.

Since we are on the subject of aliens, check this out ---->

Real Wands

Wands are not just fictional objects in the Harry Potter books. People have been using real wands for thousands of years and wands are still being made and used today! Here is some information on real wands.

What The Hell Is A Wand

Wands are long thin hand held sticks made of  wood, stone, ivory or metal and are associated with magic. They are used in paganistic, ecclesiatical, governmental and ceremonial uses. They represent power. Wands have been depicted for thousands of years in Ancient Egyptian art and further back to Stone Age cave paintings.
In Ancient Egypt magic wands, amulets and magic books were entombed with Pharoahs for their Ka (soul) to use in the afterlife.
In classical Greco-Roman mythology, the God Hermes has a special wand known as Caduceus.
In Wicca, wands are used to channel energy. Wicca practitioners usually make their wands out of wood by cutting a branch and personalising it with carvings. Some may also buy wood from a hardware store and others simply purchase ready made wands.
In Wicca, the wood that the wand is made of determines which of the four elements (Water, Air, Fire, Earth) the wand gravitates towards.
Wands are used by Pagans, witches and Shamans for healing purposes and spell casting.
Wands may have originated from Central Asia and Siberia where Shamans used wands as drumming sticks for religious, healing and magical ceremonies.

Wands Made Of Wood

A wand made of wood is the most popular choice of wand. Many people see trees as holding energy and natural magic. Some regard trees as special beings. Trees are home to birds and animals and come directly from the earth. Some people believe trees embody a spirit and people leave offerings to the spiritual presence.
Most Native Americans, Shamans, witches, Pagans and those who practice Wicca believe that trees possess powers of healing and magic. Different trees possess different energies, magic curative powers and medicinal properties. No two trees are exactly the same. Some hold positive energy and others hold negative energy.
Trees are seen as possessing past and present knowledge. The older the tree is, the wiser it is and therefore, older trees are revered.

Making A Magic Wand

In order for a wand to be magical they must be made of a natural substance which can channel energy, for example wood or stone. A plastic resin wand will possess little or no magical properties.
Unfortunately, most official and unofficial replica Harry Potter wands are made of cheap plastic resin and painted to look wooden. Though these replica wands are fantastic as movie collectibles (I have two replica wands myself, Professor McGonagall's and Professor Sprout's) they hold no real magic and are therefore, technically, fake wands.

Wands will hold most power for those who create the wand themselves. A chosen branch should be cut from a chosen tree after first asking permission from the tree to cut the branch. This can be done by meditating underneath the tree. A gift offering should also be given to the tree as a way of thanks. This offering can be a stone such as quartz or even a coin.
After cutting the branch, some people might leave the branch exactly the way it is, prefering not to tamper with its natural magical state.
Others prefer to remove the bark and personalise the wood by sanding it and carving it to form a magical bond with their wand.

Some people prefer not to cut a branch from a living tree as this deliberately hurts the tree and kills the branch. Instead they will find dead wood lying on the ground and use this to make their wand.
Others desiring a specific wood may buy wood from a hardware store, though wood that has been bought is thought to hold less magical properties than wood that has been found and chosen personally by the wand maker.
Some people prefer to just buy a ready-made wooden wand.

Taking Care Of Your Wand

All wooden wands require some level of care in order to preserve them and keep them looking their best. In order to care for a wand, I recommend only using beeswax.
Beeswax is a completely natural product made by honey bees. Every 10 pounds of honey made by honey bees yields 1 pound of beeswax. Honey bees use the beeswax to build honeycomb cells in which they raise their young and store honey and pollen.
Take a soft cloth and apply a small amount of beeswax to cloth. Rub the beeswax into your wand until the whole wand has been treated and then using a dry part of the cloth gently wipe the wand. This will hydrate the wand and prevent it from becoming dry and brittle and will thus prevent it cracking or splitting. The beeswax will also produce a nice lustre to the wand.
Beeswax is a preferable way to clean and hydrate the wand rather than polishing it with wood polish or varnishing it. Beeswax maintains the wand's natural state without the interference of man made products.

 Wand Cores

Wands in the Harry Potter books and on pottermore.com have a magical core to increase its power and magical ability. These cores are mostly dragon heartstring, unicorn hair and phoenix feather, however other cores have been known to exist in wands such as veela hair and thestral hair.
Since wands in the Harry Potter books have a core element I favour giving my wands a core too. I use the feather of an ostrich, however peacock and pheasant feathers are popular too.
Ostriches are regarded as being the symbol of pride, truthfulness, happiness and luck. The medicinal properties of the ostrich is to teach us to enjoy little things and to uncomplicate our lives.
Birds in general, even the flightless ostrich, are believed to possess higher powers, ethereal knowledge and being open to wisdom.
The ostrich, though it has wings, does not possess the ability to fly. This represents being well grounded. The ostrich uses its long legs and neck to obtain the ethereal knowledge and its flightlessness to ground that knowledge and wisdom for practical use. The ostrich uses its wings for balance when it is running symbolising the need to remain balanced when life is racing by.
Ostriches are known for their healthy appetites. This represents a hunger for more knowledge and an appetite for greater wisdom. Ostriches also swallow stones to aid digestion symbolising the need to digest knowledge before acting on it. Acting on knowledge without first digesting it leads to flighty, inappropriate actions. This is another way of staying grounded.
The ostriches speed symbolises its ability to outrun its adversaries in the quest for self protection.

My Wand on pottermore.com

"The wand chooses the wizard, Mr. Potter." So said Mr. Ollivander, maker of fine wands to Harry Potter in The Philosopher's Stone.

The wand that chose me is Dragon core, Pine, 12 & 1/2 inches long, quite bendy.

So what does all that mean?

Dragon:

Generally dragon heartstrings produce wands with the most power. They are capable of the most elaborate spells. Dragon wands seem to learn more quickly than other types of wands. Although they can change allegiance if won from their original owner, they always bond strongly with their master.
Dragon wand tends to be easiest if all the wands to turn to the Dark Arts, though it will not incline that way of its own accord. It is also the most prone of all the cores to accidents, having a somewhat temperamental personality.

Pine:

The pine wand always chooses an independent, individual master who may be perceived as a loner, intriguing, enigmatic and mysterious. Pine wands enjoy being used creatively and will adapt willingly to new methods and spells. Many wandmakers insist that pine wands are able to detect owners who are destined for long lives and as such work best for those owners. The pine wand is one of those that is most sensitive to non-verbal magic.

12 & 1/2 inches long:

According to wandlore, longer wands might suit taller wizards and witches, shorter wands suit shorter wizards and witches.

Quite Bendy:

Wand flexibility or rigidity denotes the degree of adaptability and willingness to change possessed by the wand-and-master pair. Bendy indicates a willingness to adapt and change easily.

So in conclusion, my wand is powerful, independent, sensitive to non-verbal magic, quite flexible and willing to adapt to new methods and spells!

I still think it sounds like a pyromaniac Christmas tree with a serious attitude problem!
